are we still talking about the installer or is this all appearing after the install, while trying to run your stk?

xlib thing: are you running some sort of nv graphics card with the closed source driver? after some googling, i came across this:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=1230463
edit your xorg.conf in the way it is described and tell us if it worked.

now free(): invalid pointer: 0xbfb0e008 *** is essentially a segfault... i don't know what could be causing it. the shiva binary run just fine with 10.10 here. try fixing the xorg thing first.

I will try right away.

Must add to the configuration that I am using a Cloud Service for testing from Amazon. This also might give problems, however it should work properly...

Markuzzzz, does the cloud service you mentioned mean you are running Ubuntu virtualised?

Does glxgears run?

glxgears, glxinfo etc. are not packaged with 10.10, you have to load them from the repo, some mesa tools pack if i remember correctly.

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 in ec2 at amazon.

I installed glxgears using: sudo apt-get install mesa-utils

and ran

ubuntu@ixxxx:~$ glxgears
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual

Is opengl missing?

Running glxinfo from the terminal will give more information about how much of opengl is supported by the virtual machine's video driver.

Can you post the output from glxinfo here?

reinstall the nvidia drivers from the nv page, which also builds your own kernel module for the driver.
i am just assuming you have nv hardware, run lspci first to verify.

edit: wait. this is running in a virtual environment? then don't install those drivers. give us the lspci output concerning vga nonetheless.
